REGULATORY COMPLIANCE

ACCESSIBILITY & AODA

Merivale Medical Imaging is committed to providing accessible diagnostic imaging services in accordance with the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act (AODA)

Accessibility at Merivale Medical Imaging

Merivale Medical Imaging (MMI) is dedicated to providing a respectful, inclusive, and accessible environment for patients, staff, and visitors. We are committed to identifying, removing, and preventing barriers for individuals with disabilities in alignment with the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act (AODA).

MMI has filed a certified accessibility compliance report in accordance with provincial requirements. While we strive to accommodate all patients, certain imaging studies may be subject to equipment-specific limitations.

For patient safety and image quality, diagnostic imaging equipment has maximum weight limits. The following limits apply to imaging studies performed at our facility:
Bone Mineral Density
350 lbs (159 kg)
X-Ray Studies
400 lbs (182 kg)
Nuclear Medicine Studies
440 lbs (200 kg)
Ultrasound Studies
350 lbs (159 kg)
For mammography examinations, wheelchair arms must be removable. For all imaging studies, patients must be able to safely self-transfer from a wheelchair to the imaging table. As an outpatient diagnostic imaging clinic, specialized lifting equipment is not available, nor are hallways or doorways large enough to accomodate.
